Here’s How It Works
1. Site Assessment
Your decorator visits and checks every surface, noting surface type, existing coating condition, render integrity, and any biological growth, and identifies repair work needed before painting starts.
2. Surface Preparation
Moss, algae, and loose material are cleaned off. Render is repaired where needed. Timber is stripped to sound material. Biological growth is treated before rinsing.
3. Priming
Bare timber gets a specialist exterior timber primer. Masonry gets a masonry primer suited to the surface. The right primer is what separates a finish that lasts from one that fails early.
4. Paint Application
Exterior paint needs a dry window to cure properly. Surrey’s weather is monitored and application phases are planned around it. Two finish coats are standard. High-exposure west and north-facing surfaces get a third.
5. Inspection and Touch-Up
Once the final coat has cured, all surfaces are inspected in good light. Touch-ups are completed before leaving. Your decorator walks through the finished work with you before closing the job.

Three things drive the price: surface area, surface condition, and paint system. A large detached villa in Oxshott has considerably more wall area than a 1930s semi in Walton-on-Thames.

- 1930s semi (Walton-on-Thames or Hersham, rendered or brick): £2,000 to £3,500 for walls only. Add £500 to £1,000 for fascias, soffits, and windows.
- Edwardian semi (Thames Ditton or Claygate, render and substantial timber): £3,000 to £5,500 depending on timber condition and access requirements.
